Position Overview:  The Business Development Manager (BDM) is responsible for driving new business opportunities (70% hunting) and nurturing existing client relationships (30% farming) within the Forklift sector. The BDM will identify potential clients, develop strategic partnerships, and ensure customer satisfaction to achieve sales targets and business growth.

Key Responsibilities:
  • New Business Development (70%):
    • Identify and target potential clients through market research, networking, and cold calling.
    • Develop and execute strategic sales plans to achieve new business targets.
    • Conduct presentations and product demonstrations to prospective clients.
    • Negotiate and close new business deals, ensuring alignment with company goals.
    • Attend industry events and trade shows to generate leads and build relationships.
  • Account Management (30%):
    • Maintain and strengthen relationships with existing clients to ensure customer satisfaction and retention.
    • Identify opportunities to upsell and cross-sell additional products and services.
    • Conduct regular client meetings to review performance, address concerns, and provide solutions.
    • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure seamless service delivery and support.
  • General Duties:
    • Monitor market trends, competitor activities, and industry developments to stay informed.
    • Prepare and present regular sales reports and forecasts to senior management.
    • Contribute to the development of marketing materials and campaigns.
    • Provide training and support to junior sales team members.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in business development, sales, or a similar role within the equipment hire or forklift industry.
  • Strong understanding of sales processes, negotiation techniques, and customer relationship management.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Proficiency in CRM software and Microsoft Office Suite.
