We are looking for Automation Operator’s to join our manufacturing site based in Pokeno. In this role you will be translating production plans into daily execution, optimising labour, machines and materials. You will work closely with the production team to ensure both teams are working together. You will be based at our flagship, state of the art automated and semi-automated manufacturing and batch operations therefore you must be passionate about this type of machinery and environment. This is a complex and high-performing environment. We are looking for people across 2 shift patterns (06:00AM 02:30PM and 04:30PM – 12:30AM). Your duties will include:
- Promote and maintain a strong safety-first culture across the site
- Manage production planning, labour resourcing, machine availability and capacity optimisation
- Lead and implement continuous improvement processes across the site and team
- Provide technical support to the teams across concrete mix design, concrete batching and production processes
- Ensure compliance with quality systems, reporting and environmental legislation
- Attend pre-start checks and toolbox talks and be a regular voice for the team
- Ensuring adequate resources are available for effective execution of the production plan
- Coaching and developing the team members
Skills & Experience
Due to the nature of the role, to be successful in this role you will need:
- Minimum 3 years experience in an automated or process manufacturing environment
- Strong understanding of production scheduling and reporting
- Experience with automated manufacturing systems and continuous improvement
- An Engineering qualification is preferable
- Exposure to Lean manufacturing principles
- Strong communication skills and the ability to influence at all levels
- Experience within an FMCG environment with operating an automated plant
- Understanding of the importance of cycle times, adhering to hourly targets
- Strong IT skills – you will be working on computers daily
- Excellent understanding of Health & Safety procedures
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
- To be able to pass a Drug & Alcohol test
- A great attitude and willingness to learn
