We’re looking for a skilled Heavy Diesel Mechanic to join a well-established Hawke’s Bay workshop that services a wide range of trucks, trailers, buses, forklifts, and light vehicles. You’ll be part of a tight-knit team of seven, working alongside experienced tradesmen and apprentices, keeping everything running smoothly across a busy transport fleet.
What you’ll be doing:
- Carrying out servicing, repairs, and maintenance on heavy diesel vehicles, trailers, and buses
- Diagnosing mechanical issues and completing general repairs (some transmission work too)
- Occasional servicing of light vehicles and forklifts
- Working collaboratively with a small, down-to-earth workshop crew
- Upskilling junior team members

Extras: Southern Cross subsidy, overtime at hourly rate + $10 Per Hour, on-call allowance

What we’re looking for:
- 5+ years’ experience as a Heavy Diesel Mechanic (qualified or qualified-by-experience)
- Class 5 license Desirable (Class 1 considered)
- Strong work ethic and the ability to get along well with others
- Own basic hand tools
- Willingness to pass pre-employment checks (drug test, MOJ, references)
